Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and repetitive strain disorders of the upper extremity.
Common complaints: Tingling, numbness and clumsiness of the fingers with shooting pain.
Treatment: Establish diagnosis, often from nerve studies when appropriate then conservative care with splints, anti-inflammatory medications, sterioidal injections. Surgery, when all conservative measures have failed or when symptoms are too far advanced. Procedures used are the endoscopic technique or the open technique depending largely on the patient's preference.
